pressure ridges

A painting by Alan Campbell. Created on location in Antarctica, this is the view out the front of Scott Base. Alan and his son Colin were recipients of the National Science Foundation's, Artists and Writers grant and they were sent to the ice to paint and try to capture the light and magic of this crystalline paradise. I think they succeeded. Anthony has also applied for this grant to do his time-lapse photography. We should hear if he got it sometime in March.
